Empower Your Business with Global Talent
Sponsor Licence Applications – Hire Skilled Workers Legally in the UK
Comprehensive Legal Support from London’s Leading Solicitors
If your organisation plans to hire skilled foreign workers, you must hold a valid Sponsor Licence issued by the UK Home Office. Without it, you cannot legally sponsor employees from overseas under the Skilled Worker, Senior/Specialist Worker, or Minister of Religion routes.
At Right Law Solicitors, we provide full-service legal support to help UK businesses, educational institutions, charities, and faith organisations obtain and maintain a Sponsor Licence — enabling you to recruit, retain, and comply with UK immigration laws with confidence.
What Is a Sponsor Licence?
A Sponsor Licence is a formal permission granted by the Home Office that allows UK employers to:
- Sponsor overseas nationals for employment under work visa routes
- Assign Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS)
- Employ non-UK workers legally for long-term or temporary roles
Once approved, your business becomes a licensed sponsor and gains access to the Sponsor Management System (SMS) to manage foreign workers and report changes.
Licences are typically granted for 4 years and are renewable.
Who Needs a Sponsor Licence?
You need a Sponsor Licence if you plan to employ workers under the following routes:
- Skilled Worker Visa – for qualified professionals, engineers, healthcare workers, etc.
- Senior/Specialist Worker (Global Business Mobility) – for intra-company transfers
- Minister of Religion or Religious Workers – for churches, mosques, temples, etc.
- Education Sector Recruitment – teachers, researchers, school staff
- Care Providers – recruiting carers, support workers, and nurses
We support all sectors, including SMEs, startups, charities, care homes, religious bodies, and large corporates.
