What Is the High Potential Individual Visa?
The HPI Visa is part of the UK’s points-based immigration system and allows recent graduates from an eligible top university outside the UK to:
- Live and work in the UK for up to 2 years (3 years for PhD holders)
- Take on employment, self-employment, or unpaid work
- Bring dependants (partner and children)
- Switch into other long-term visa routes, including the Skilled Worker or Global Talent visa
Unlike other routes, the HPI visa does not require a job offer or sponsorship — giving you the freedom to explore your options.
